The Blue Hills Theatre was founded in 2007 as a working educational summer stock program for young adults. Past performance included You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, Some Pig! (the story of Charlotte’s Web), Once on this Island, Disney’s Jungle Book Kids, Seussical Kid, Disney’s Winnie the Pooh Kids., Happily Ever After? (an original musical), Pirates! The Musical, and Pirates! 2. The Blue Hills Theatre is a non-profit theatre recognized by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health as a classroom-based instructional program.
The Blue Hills Theatre is an introductory theatre experience for children ages 7-14. Participants bring “storybooks to life” on stage with music, movement, puppets, and costumes! Instruction is student-centered and designed to encourage self-expression and creativity. Students receive group instruction in singing, movement, and acting, and assist with the creation of sets and costumes that will be used in the culminating performance. Students apply what they learned to a full-scale theatrical production!
